Events Manager - Inside IR35

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:
· Run an effective welfare system that enables people to achieve financial independence by providing assistance and guidance into employment

· Create a fair and affordable welfare system which improves the life chances of children
· Deliver outstanding services to our customers and claimants
· Deliver efficiently: transform the way we deliver our services to reduce costs and increase productivity
As an Events Manager your main responsibilities will be:
· Implementing activities outlined in the internal events strategy.
· Attend virtual and face to face events when needed for more than 5000 Digital Group colleagues, ensuring they run smoothly using MS Teams and MS Teams Live Events where necessary.
· Planning delivery of our Digital Showcase, a 5 day series of events in April 2024, which engages with colleagues about DWPs challenge to be digital first.
· Finding opportunities to promote our events in the most engaging and effective way.
· Monitor and evaluate events to drive continuous improvements and make recommendations to enhance event standards.
· Collaborative working with the wider Digital Engagement community, to ensure coordinated approach to promoting events.
· Work with partners to develop event plans and support delivery to ensure events are delivered on time, to budget, and to high standards.
· The role will work very closely alongside the DWP Digital’s communications and engagement team to ensure key messages of the events are covered, that they are promoted and advertised in the most effective way possible to get maximum sign up.
Required experience:
· Competency in using MS Teams and other engagement tools.
· The ability to communicate in an engaging manner with appropriate styles to maximise understanding and impact.
· Experience of writing event communications.
