Recruitment process: Competency based interview.

At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

We are looking for a curious, ambitious and proactive new business executive to join our Supporter Led fundraising business development team. Focusing on corporate fundraising you will support the wider team with high quality research, identifying and developing new sources of leads and qualifiers, and ensuring agreed KPI's are met in line with divisional and national targets.

This is a great role for someone who has worked in a research or new business role. You'll be organised, have great attention to detail and not be shy in picking up the phone to speak to new leads. You'll also be surrounded by people who are as dedicated to beating cancer as you are.

What will I be doing?

  • Using a variety of resources to identify and research prospects with capacity to support Cancer Research UK in the short and longer term, working towards agreed targets and Key Performance Indicators.

  • Be the first point of contact for research enquiries, briefs, and complex queries, providing full and accurate supporter profiling in line with policies to enable targeted networking and acquisition.

  • Supporting the development of a robust prospect pipeline of opportunities, identifying and cultivating leads with a strong focus on lifetime value to CRUK

  • Supporting the operations and divisional teams to identify target audiences from our existing data in line with strategic needs

  • Working with the divisional team to contribute to lead generation and research strategies.

  • Provide supporter facing engagement and representation of the Business Development team within the division as required

What skills will I need?

  • Proactive and highly organised with a strong attention to detail - able to manage own workload and ensure conflicting deadlines and priorities are well handled

  • Ability to collect and assimilate large amounts of detailed information, identify key points and convey complex ideas clearly and succinctly to support effective decision making.

  • Experience of providing excellent customer service

  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders across regional teams and operate as part of a team

  • Experience of working successfully in professional research, using a variety of research resources

  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal form

Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do.

Bold: Act with ambition, courage and determination

Credible: Act with rigour and professionalism

Human: Act to have a positive impact on people

Together: Act inclusively and collaboratively

We're looking for people who can believe in and embody these organisation values and can use them to drive forward progress against our mission to beat cancer.

What will I gain?

Each and every one of our employees contributes to our mission to beat cancer. In return, we create a working environment that supports your wellbeing and provide a generous benefits package, a wide range of career and personal development opportunities and high-quality tools. Our policies and processes enable you to improve your work-life balance, take positive steps in your career and achieve your personal wellbeing goals.

How do I apply?

We operate an anonymised shortlisting process in our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. CVs are required for all applications; but we won't be able to view them until we invite you for an interview. Instead, we ask you to complete the work history section of the online application form for us to be able to assess you fairly and objectively.
