Directorate: Children and Young People's ServiceDivision: Children's Social CareGrade: 7Location: LiverpoolDBS Check: EnhancedReports To: Team/Deputy Team ManagerJob Overview:Our client is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Children's Social Care team. This role involves contributing to the effective delivery of services to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people, while continuously improving outcomes.
You will be responsible for managing your caseload, complying with statutory and departmental procedures, and collaborating with various stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Caseload Management: Handle a complex caseload with appropriate supervision and guidance, adhering to statutory guidance and legislation.Risk Assessment: Assess levels of risk and need in complex situations to ensure the safety and welfare of children.
Service Delivery: Provide protective and supportive services for children at risk, in need, or looked after.Care Planning: Establish and implement care plans for children and their families, ensuring these are updated regularly to reflect changing needs.Compliance: Prepare and present reports for various purposes, including court hearings and child protection conferences, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Council and partner agencies, attending multi-disciplinary forums and representing the department as required.Direct Work with Children: Engage in direct work with children, young people, and their families, ensuring they are fully involved in the assessment and care planning process.Statutory Visits: Undertake statutory visits within required timescales, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
Professional Development: Participate in professional supervision, performance reviews, and continuous learning opportunities.Data Management: Ensure that client information is gathered, maintained, and shared in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and local government regulations.Essential Qualifications and Skills:Education: Degree in Social Work or equivalent, with appropriate registration.
Experience: Proven experience in managing complex caseloads and assessing risk. Familiarity with social work interventions that promote positive outcomes.Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective time management, and an ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
