About the Opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Support Worker to join our growing Everton in the Community team.
As a Family Support Worker, you will be responsible for working with families who are experiencing short term or long-term challenges, focusing on developing our Family Support offer across our impact model and assessing the needs of the family as well as providing support or assistance that will empower them to overcome the difficulties they are experiencing.
We are seeking a professional who is passionate about helping young people and is driven to make a difference to families living in the L4/South Sefton area.
Other key responsibilities will include:
- Developing robust referral processes and build effective referral networks
- Assessing the needs of the family and create an action plan, working closely with partner organisations to provide a holistic tailored package of support
- Working with key statutory and strategic partners, including Police and Health professionals, in delivering an effective multi-disciplinary system to improve outcomes and life chances for children and young people
- Creating a comprehensive risk assessment to ensure the safety of all staff, family members and young people.
Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for someone who has experience of working with young people who display challenging behaviour and have or are at risk of being criminally exploited.
Previous experience of delivering in schools and educational establishments and of working with complex families is advantageous.
We want someone who has a genuine passion for helping support young people and families, who has the ability to build trust and rapport quickly, enjoying interacting with a wide variety of people on a daily basis.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate patience, empathy and a non-judgemental attitude towards both colleagues and participants.
This is a 12 month Fixed-Term Contract, with the core hours for this role will be 35 hours per week, which does include evening and weekends on occasion – contract will be flexible across 7 days.
