The purpose of this role is to lead and develop a team of Technicians working on Waste Pumping Stations in the Home Counties South West area, base location would be Camberley STW.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of your sites, delivering the planned maintenance program, responding to operational events, and delivering excellent customer service. In this role, you will also need to develop a strong working relationship with the maintenance projects team, network teams, key contractors, and other stakeholders.

Practical working knowledge of wastewater networks would be highly beneficial, allowing you to provide not only leadership to your team but technical mentoring as well.

What you’ll be doing as a Field Operations Manager

Your team will be responsible for the operation and maintenance and help with the day-to-day operation of our wastewater pumping stations. Each day can present its challenges and you will work towards achieving the highest equipment efficiencies.

  • This role will involve managing a total of 15 technicians made up of Operators and mechanical, Electrical & ICA technicians.
  • You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement – most notably in Health and Safety. Part of the role will be meeting operational, maintenance and customer-driven targets.
  • Other factors of the role include conducting regular workplace audits on safety and quality of work, and developing, and driving team engagement.

What you should bring to the role

Are you experienced in leading a team of Field-based, Operational staff? Do you have a passion for improving Health & Safety?

  • We are looking for someone with a proven record of achieving results through managing others and can deal with periods of increased activity.
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety legislation is essential as well as knowledge of drainage systems and an appreciation of electrical & mechanical principles.
  • You will be competent in IT & internal systems and can interpret and manipulate complex Excel spreadsheets.
  • Due to the nature of this role, you will need to have a fully valid driving licence and be able to work in confined spaces.
