Our Finance Teams:Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.
An excellent opportunity for anyone who wants broad exposure to various areas within Times Media and The Sun’s Commercial teams - areas covered within this role include print and digital advertising, e-commerce and affiliate revenues.
Day to day you will:
Business Partnering - You will be the key business partner to the Travel and Bridge Studio teams; covering high-growth areas. Ownership of the overall print advertising budgets means you’ll also be engaging with a number of stakeholders across the business.
Planning & Forecasting - Ownership of monthly and quarterly planning, forecasting and review processes. Challenging planning assumptions across multiple teams to ensure accuracy and identify risks and opportunities. Own, upkeep and be the expert on detailed commercial plans.
Analysis - Undertake investment appraisal/business cases for new campaigns and incentives, including post investment reviews. Working with the commercial teams to track and report on revenue performance and the trends within category and title performance
Reporting - Weekly and Monthly reporting of relevant KPIs and revenue. Whilst this role does not involve extensive month end processes, working with our Commercial Finance team in Peterborough, you will be responsible for ensuring costs and revenue are recorded accurately. Maintain and enhance all KPI reporting, providing analysis and good understanding of any risks/opportunities identified.
What we are looking for from you:
Fully Qualified Accountant
Proven experience supporting senior stakeholders
Proactive, problem solving, ‘can do’ attitude to work with multiple stakeholders of varying finance knowledge
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
Ability to influence and challenge as appropriate
Media / commercial experience helpful, not essential
Strong excel and data analysis skills (experience with TM1 beneficial but not essential)
