Finance and Operations Manager

Manchester City Centre (1 day per week wfh)

£30,000 - £40,000

We are currently looking for a Finance and Operations Manager to join our client's dynamic team in Manchester City Centre. If you are a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail, this role is perfect for you. You will be responsible for managing the Finance and HR functions as well as overseeing all day to day operations and working closely with directors.

Here are some of the key responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Utilise Xero for invoicing, credit control, and reconciliation.
  • Oversee company bank accounts, managing day-to-day payments.
  • Handle payroll management and pension scheme.
  • Act as the main contact between our client and external accountants for VAT returns and monthly management accounts.
  • Ensure prompt processing of staff expenses and invoices for payment.
  • Manage office costs and credit card spending.

HR/Culture:

  • Take charge of high-level HR duties.
  • Arrange and participate in interviews with the head of relevant departments.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees, including Right to Work checks and drafting employment contracts.
  • Promote our client's values and lead the company culture alongside senior management.
  • Assist in organising the annual business update 'Away Day'.
  • Maintain the staff handbook and update policies as needed.
  • Help with planning and scheduling of appraisals and development check-in meetings.
  • Manage relationships between our client and universities, supporting apprentices in their studies.

Operations:

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and strategize process improvements.
  • Maintain necessary insurance for the business, such as Professional Indemnity and Employer's Liability.
  • Mentor the admin team and provide cover when needed.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar Finance and Operations role - managing day to day finances for a company is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Xero Accounting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accountancy, or a related field.
  • Property experience is not essential but may be an advantage
