Salary: Up to 26,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, Hybrid

Our client, secure and stable business based in Smethwick, Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Finance Assist to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual to contribute to the smooth operation of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase Ledger Management:
  • Efficiently manage the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices.
• Supplier Payments:
  • Process and execute payments to suppliers, including BACS payment runs and foreign transfers.
• Supplier Statement Reconciliation:
  • Regularly reconcile supplier statements, addressing discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Query Resolution:
  • Investigate and resolve any queries related to invoices or payments in a timely manner.
• Bank Account Monitoring:
  • Monitor bank accounts, ensuring accuracy in processing payments and receipts, and reconciling to the bank statement.
• New Supplier Requests:
  • Review and process new supplier requests, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Same Day Payments:
  • Raise same-day payments when necessary, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Financial Transactions:
  • Process payments and receipts accurately, reconciling to the bank statement.
• Requisition and Goods Receipts:
  • Raise requisitions and goods receipts as part of the procurement process.
• Year-End Audit Assistance:
• Assist with year-end audit queries, providing necessary information and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in using finance software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
