Senior Assistant Rent Accountant

RM Recruit is working with our Housing client to recruit a Senior Assistant Rent Accountant for a period of at least 3 months with a view to extend. The role is mostly working from home with office presence required a couple of times per month.

Main duties include:

• To ensure the setting of accurate rents, including managing the production of rent budgets, the reporting of budget to actual variances, short term forecasting and the production of rent reconciliations.
• Producing the rents bad debt provision calculations and support the operational teams with bad debt write offs in accordance with the financial regulations in force at the time.
• To ensure property information is accurately recorded in order to report rent performance and to support the production of accurate rents.
• To assist with the regular review and update of rent accounting processes and controls.
• To work collaboratively with operations teams in rent setting and rent increases.
• Work collaboratively with the Service Charge Team on all related areas.
• Work with the lettings teams on rent charging on re-lets.
• Support the Financial Planning and Analysis team on short and long term rent forecasting.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess excellent knowledge of rents and possess prior experience working in a similar role. Given the nature of the role, you will be available immediately / short notice and be able to hit the ground running. The majority of this role is home working with some office presence required on a monthly basis.
