Job Purpose

To support the Head of Finance in the day-to-day Accounts Payable financial and accounting activities. To be a proactive team member supporting other finance functions as and when required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Posting of supplier invoices and credit notes ensuring they are accurately coded to the correct department, project, etc.
• To create purchase orders as requested and ensure proper channels are adhered to for authorization before issue.
• Month-end supplier reconciliation to statements.
• To prepare mid-month and month-end supplier payment runs for onward authorization.
• To prepare in input bank bulk payments for onward authorisation.
• Regularly review and maintain the supplier accounts.
• Issue remittance advice and investigate to promptly resolve and outstanding items.
• To process expenses and credit card purchases for the company.
• To identify purchases of fixed assets and once approved add them to the FAR.
• To identify prepayments and process them accordingly.
• At month end prepare an accruals schedule for goods and services received but not invoiced.
• Create good working relationships with our external suppliers and stakeholders.
• To ensure all departmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Assist with year-end audit processes.
• General assistance to support the Team as required.

Qualifications and experience required.

• A recognised accounting qualification AAT or working towards as a minimum, or relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy accounts payable environment.
• Sage line 50 experience desirable, training will be given.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Suite Skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work while being a team player in a small finance team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
