Our client, a legal firm, is looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Manager and Senior Cashier with financial administrative support.
This is a full time role based in the office and is initially a 6 month fixed term contract.
Some of the job duties will include;
- Purchase ledger.
- Raising payments and reconciling the bank accounts.
- Posting invoices to the firms’ accounting systems.
- Administering expenses and staff claims.
- Maintain incoming cheque log.
- Maintain petty cash.
- Receiving card payments from clients.
- Produce ad hoc reconciliations, reports and other statements.
- Check accuracy of lawyer property completion and accounting statements.
- End of day reconciliation and checking of balances.
- Provide credit control support when required.
Attributes required;
- Accounting experience is essential.
- No legal background is required but would of course be an advantage.
- Excel skills at intermediate level (V-Lookups and pivot tables).

Although this role is a contract, there is a chance it could become permanent. However, there is no guarantee with this, so the job would really only suit someone who is either currently temping, or not working at all.
