Description of the role
This is an essential position within our growing finance department, and involves working closely with the Financial Controller in handling the department’s day to day activities. It’s an excellent opportunity to be part of a finance team in a progressive and fast-moving, growing business.
The day to day responsibilities of this role include:
? Daily cash monitoring.
? Reconciliation of bank accounts in Xero.
? Reconciliation of company card expenses & processing of employee expenses.
? Record benefits in kind for year end reporting to HMRC.
? Assisting the Financial Controller with month-end processes.
? Assist with year-end procedures and communication with auditors.
? Support implementation of systems for increased control and efficiency.
? Managing the department’s post and answering e-mail queries
? Managing requests on Trello from other departments such as WFH equipment, travel booking/expenses, other ad hoc payment requests
? Assist with daily & monthly reporting
? Provide support to the Accounts Payable function
Who are we looking for?

While previous experience in an accounts payable or similar environment would be great, you may also be suitably qualified and looking to move into a finance environment for the first time.
The specifics we would be looking for are as follows:
? Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
? Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to build good relationships with financial and operational management across the business.
? The ability to be flexible in a changing environment and work to strict deadlines.
? Must be a proficient user of Excel.
? Experience within an e-commerce environment would be desirable although not essential.
? Experience using Xero is preferable.
? FX experience desirable
? HNC/HND in accounting or AAT/ICB or relevant work experience
Please note that for this role, you could either be based in our Glasgow office or work from home. Whilst the majority of the work can be done online and therefore remotely, there will still be a requirement for in office collaboration from time to time.
Salary : up to £27,000
