Job Title:Finance Assurance Accountant

Location: Preston: We offer a range of hybrid and Flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £55,000

What you'll be doing:

• Carrying out the planning, delivery and reporting of a programme of audits that examine key areas of financial risk
• Conducting audit assignments
• Analysing the effectiveness of controls to mitigate risk
• Applying critical thinking to identify weaknesses and understand root cause, determining and agreeing value added recommendations to enhance business performance
• Support activities that contribute towards readiness for UK Corporate Reform and drive continuous improvement within the GCC
• Your audit reports will be written for and read by senior stakeholders across the business, including members of the Executive Committee of BAE Systems plc

Your skills and experiences:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with strong technical capability
• A motivated self-starter with good organisational and stakeholder management skills to achieve outcomes through collaboration with others
• Analytical skills, including the use of data analytics, to analyse complex issues and draw appropriate conclusions through the understanding of root cause
• Proven verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively deliver potentially sensitive and / or complex information to a range of stakeholders, including senior executives
• Ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders to gain support for recommendations and observations made in order to drive through improvement initiatives
• Integrity and resilience to withstand pressure and remain firm on observations / recommendations arising from audit activity
