Do you enjoy working at pace, and have a genuine desire to make a difference to the customers we serve? The key responsibility of the Head of Finance role is to think commercially and strategically.
The broader Commercial Banking (CB) Finance Business Partnering Team play a key role in the overall support of the CB Division by providing business support, analysis, and insights, as well as reporting on current business performance across all the CB products.
This role reports to the Head of CB Business Partnering with a particular focus on BCB Performance Management and understanding, but also working collaboratively across the broader team on initiatives as required.
This is a leadership role with a team of circa 10 Finance Business Partners as well as managing the relationships provided by the centres of excellence.
Day to day you'll be;
- Contributing to the setting of the strategic direction through the provision of key commercial decision support.
- Responsible for driving the direction and content of financial and commercial performance, which will include running the Business Growth Forum to understand drivers and help guide the business in their delivery of their targets.
- Collaborating across teams to develop and implement medium term operational plans taking into account the wider business and regulatory context.
- Responsible for ensuring strategic alignment and financial interlock of plans across the various product and platform teams and with Group economics.
- Formulating additional opportunities for cost efficiency for consideration through independent analysis and internal and external benchmarking.
- Advancing processes to deliver insightful information to influence business decisions by nurturing the improvement of data flows; driving forward the agenda of regular ad hoc proactive analysis.
- Leading finance projects and representing the finance function in corporate projects with an impact across a whole division or divisions.

What you'll need
- Experience as a leader and coach, with a consistent record of delivery through others, building a broad and diverse environment to attract, retain and develop talent.
- Prior experience in a Finance Business partnering role.
- Ability to deliver at pace, accurately and collaboratively.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate a large matrix organisation across finance and the Business.
- Strong analytical and interpretative skills and excellent judgement.
