As the Finance Business Partner for Income and Segment profitability, you'll be the driving force behind our financial performance, collaborating directly with key stakeholders including the Executive Directors of our Business Development & Engagement and Underwriting, Pricing & Insurance divisions. Your expertise in leveraging data insights with a future-focused mindset will play a critical role in turning business plans into financial success stories.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Performance, this role presents a unique opportunity to work closely with divisional leaders as a trusted advisor, providing real-time support. As a central point of contact for Group Finance, you'll influence decision-making and add significant value through financial planning and analysis activities.
We are seeking a seasoned finance professional with successful track record of Business Partnering. Role Responsibility
- Partner with Executive Directors and their leadership teams in identifying business drivers for financial performance (income and segment profitability), developing forecast and building the annual budget.
- Engage the business in performance discussions and constructively challenge assumptions and execution plans to deliver income and profitability targets.
- Build upon a new BI tool recently developed and continue to enhance and automate insights directly from the tool new business generation activities, renewal trend, and pricing impact.
- Implement improvement to Anaplan to ensure Anaplan is fit for purpose (income) before 2025 budget cycle.
- Deep dive on Segment performance to identify opportunities to improve, partnering with central FP&A to understand and challenge allocation methodology, pricing team and reserve FBP to understand pricing assumptions vs actual loss ratio.
- Prepare month end review pack on income and segment performance, presenting to Executive Directors, Head of FP&P and the CFO.
- Create insightful financial analysis and presentation in support of quarterly business review and ad hoc topics required for ExCo or Board meeting related to segment performance and income.
The Ideal Candidate
As the ideal candidate for the Finance Business Partner role, you will hold a financial qualification and showcase a proven ability to influence business decisions through data-driven insights and strategic acumen.
Your problem-solving skills and proactive approach will be instrumental in identifying and implementing profitability improvement opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams utilising financial and non-financial data to achieve impactful results.
Were looking for curiosity someone who is both keen and quick to learn our complex organisation, as well as keep up to date with the external market. Youll also come with a strategic mindset, strong Business Partnering skills and a keen eye for detail.
Not essential but beneficial to the role, would be a background working within the insurance and/or underwriting space, as well as proficiency with BI tools and expertise of Anaplan (MPS financial planning tool).

Package Description
