About Salix
Salix’s role is to support the UK government in driving the transition to a low-carbon future by delivering and administering grant and loan funding schemes on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), the Department for Education (DfE) and the Scottish and Welsh Governments, to public sector organisations.
In 2023 Salix’s role expanded beyond the public sector; and were appointed as a delivery agent for Wave 2 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) and Home Upgrade Scheme (HUG) schemes. Salix is a fast-growing business providing excellence in the schemes it delivers.
The role
The Finance Business Partner will support the Senior Finance Business Partner to build Salix’s reputation as trustworthy stewards of public money.
There are two roles available - applicants are encouraged to apply for a further conversation to explore one or both roles. You will either deliver a high-quality management reporting and Business Partnering service that facilitates effective business insights into our housing schemes, to enable effective decision support so that we reach our short- and long-term goals. Or you will support the delivery of a high-quality management reporting and Business Partnering service that facilitates effective business insights into Salix’s administration costs.
The key stakeholders in these roles, outside of the Finance team, are budget holders, DESNZ, the Scottish and Welsh Governments, and Delivery Partners, who support grant recipients in their delivery of housing schemes.
What you will need to succeed
- Practical experience of preparing and monitoring budgets and forecasts working with budget holders to challenge assumptions.
- Practical experience of Business Partnering with teams outside of finance, influencing where required and ensuring teams understand the financial implications of information provided.
- Experience of and ability to keep information confidential in the workplace.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written.
- CCAB qualified, finalist or part qualified

- £38,500-£45,000pa dependent on experience and level of qualification, with potential market force supplement of up to £5,000 pa.
