Excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance professional to lead the Finance Function of an established Charity Specialist Educational organisation who support people with learning disabilities. The Finance Director post reports to the CEO / Principal and assumes responsbility for the Finance, ICT and Commercial team.
This is a 'hands on'role and is a pivotal position within the Senior Leadership team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of producing charity accounts but they are open to other sector experience. You will be qualfiied ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA with significant post qualification experience and be a strong manager of people.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO / Principal and Senior Leadership Team
- Manage the annual external audit process
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard the charities assets
- Manage the annual budgeting process and provide regular financial reports to support decision-making
- Oversee the submission of accurate payroll data each month
- Conduct financial analysis to assess the financial health of the charity and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with overall organisational goals
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, contractual and legal requirements
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing strategies to safeguard the charities financial interests
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for the Principal, SLT and Board of Governors
- Explore and implement opportunities for revenue generation and cost-saving initiatives
- Develop the knowledge and skills of Managers from across the College in matters relating to finance, budgeting and Enterprise opportunities
- Lead all fee setting and invoice issuing activities for all fee-charging contracts
