Finance Director (Operations) - our client is an expanding Venture Capital backed technology business currently undergoing a large finance transformation project. You will report to the Group CFO and be a member of a high calibre finance leadership team.
As Finance Director (Operations) you will develop and embed best practice financial processes across the rapidly expanding Group. This vital role would suit a candidate who has managed financial operations in a dynamic environment, knows what good financial process looks like, and is excited by the opportunity to build a high-performing team and implement best financial practice in a young growing business.
You will need the skills and aptitude to develop and drive continuous improvement in financial processes. You must be able to demonstrate a strong appetite for IT (ERP) systems and automation, using technology to drive efficiencies. You will approach challenges systematically and collaboratively, aiming for efficiency and precision.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the financial operations function (15-20 people) responsible for month-end and annual financial close, leading statutory reporting and managing the annual audit.
- Ensure all monthly consolidated reporting is achieved to strict deadlines. Work with the Head of FP&A to develop robust, accurate and insightful monthly management reporting.
- Manage the operation and development of the ERP system. Lead the assessment and implementation of other software systems that would improve the efficiency and accuracy of the Finance function.
- Drive financial process improvements, enhancing productivity and accuracy through automation and the implementation of best financial practice.
Your profile:
- A qualified accountant with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience and a strong track record of leading and transforming the financial operations of a dynamic organisation.
- A big four consulting background would be advantageous, as would experience of leading finance transformation / change in a corporate environment.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (ideally NetSuite), a natural aptitude for technology and its application.
- A proactive leader with the ability to oversee multiple teams and functions.
- Ambitious able to demonstrate the possession of gravitas and presence, you must be able to hold the room.
Availability: You must be currently on one month’s notice, ideally less (immediate).
Hybrid working: 1-2 days per week in Reading office.
