We're recruiting a highly skilled Finance Director to join a well-established Private Equity firm that  have been in the forefront of investing in business across the country. The role will play a vital part in the success of the Private Equity firm, working closely with the Senior Associates, Managing Director and external stakeholders involved in portfolio growth. The client have modern and clean offices in Manchester City Centre, Leeds, Birmingham and London.

The Opportunity for the Finance Director:
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Finance Director to lead and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.  Your financial insights will be instrumental in empowering strategic decision-making at the executive level.
What the Finance Director will be involved in:

• Lead and manage the financial operations for our retail division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Partner with store operations, merchandising, and marketing teams to provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive profitability.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Manage a team of finance professionals, providing coaching and mentorship to develop their skills and expertise.
• Work with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
• Maintain strong internal controls and implement procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in retail finance.
• Prepare variance analyses to identify areas of cost overrun or underperformance and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and implement financial models to support business planning and investment decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organisation.

To be successful as the Finance Director, you will need the following:

• Fully Qualified in either ACCA / ACA / CIMA with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification
• Prior experience in Private Equity is highly advantageous
• Proven experience as a Finance Director or similar senior accounting role, with a strong understanding of retail accounting principles and financial reporting, is essential.
• You'll be adept in financial reporting software and accounting systems, leveraging your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• With a keen eye for detail, you'll manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Partnering with store operations, merchandising, and marketing teams to provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive profitability will be key.
• You'll lead a team of finance professionals, providing coaching and mentorship to develop their skills and expertise.
• Maintaining strong internal controls and implementing procedures to safeguard company assets is paramount.
• Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in retail finance, while preparing variance analyses to identify areas of cost overrun or underperformance and recommend corrective actions, will be crucial.
• Finally, your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will allow you to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, presenting complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

• Competitive salary of £100,000 to £125,000 depending on experience
