Description

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the institution's goals and objectives.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the senior leadership team and the Board of Trustees.
• Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making processes.
• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.
• Manage budgeting processes, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards applicable to higher education institutions.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing internal controls to safeguard the organisation's assets.
• Develop and execute investment strategies to optimise the organisation's financial resources.
• Manage and monitor endowment funds and other institutional assets.
• Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to understand and support their financial needs.
• Communicate complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner to non-financial stakeholders.

Profile

The successful Finance Director will have

• CCAB Qualification
• Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a senior financial management role within a higher educational setting.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and budgeting processes in the education sector.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
