Finance Manager
Contract: 6-month fixed term
Location: Medway
Annual Salary: Up to £45,000 (pro-rata)
We are seeking a resilient and hardworking Finance Manager for a not-for-profit organisation in Medway. This challenging role is perfect for someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys working hard, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial management.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Develop, monitor, and manage organisational budgets, working closely with department heads.
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts and financial reports to senior management.
- Lead the year-end accounting process, including the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaising with auditors.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and guidance to support organisational decision-making.
- Implement and refine financial policies and procedures, ensuring best practices.
- Train and support finance staff to enhance their skills and ensure effective financial management across the organisation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management, with a focus on not-for-profit organisations.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience preparing management accounts and handling year-end processes.
- Relevant professional qualifications (CFA/CPA) are highly regarded.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to work, with the ability to handle a challenging and demanding role.
