- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
- Oversee the preparation and management of the annual budget.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Implement cost-control measures to optimise financial performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- The key initial project will be to bring in house the month-end management accounts process (currently outsourced). Implement controls and processes to complete month-end
- Coordinate month-end, quarterly and year-end close processes including all HMRC submissions
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the company can meet its financial obligations.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and strategies to maintain optimal cash reserves.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Conduct performance evaluations and set clear objectives for team members.
- Collaborate with department heads to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Advise senior management on the financial implications of business decisions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to drive business growth and efficiency.
- Qualified Accountant ACA preferred (ACCA/CIMA with hospitality experience)
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
