PIB Group are seeking a qualified Finance Manager to help run, grow and develop the UK Finance Shared Services Hub in Retford, Nottinghamshire. This role offers the flexibility of working from home and the office as well as being offered on a Full Time, Part Time and Job Share basis. This role reports and supports the Head of Finance Shared Service (UK) to strive for excellence in all financial outputs and performance measures of the Hub. They will need to possess a skillset that demonstrates the ability and knowhow to drive higher standards of financial information and control.
Above all the outstanding candidate should be able to achieve these goals alongside the continued development and upskilling of the existing management accounting and accounts payable teams. This role based in Retford has onsite parking.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with the department head to manage the shared goals of the team. Contribute effectively to the planning and execution of the necessary activities to achieve them;
- Implement a disciplined monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation process. Be the lead senior reviewer of these reconciliations;
- Drive high standards in monthly and quarterly close calendars;
- Track the day to day status of month end progress for the UK divisions, communicating this regularly with the team and other key stakeholders;
- Develop KPIs to monitor service level improvements to the business;
- Identify areas of potential process or accounting quality improvements and drive projects with key stakeholders to implement these changes. Examples of areas for improvement could be; accounting processes, reconciliation schedules, timings;
- Continuously coach and mentor the team to implement improvements ensuring that knowledge and skills are passed through to the team;
- Prepare and deliver training sessions to the team;
- Oversee the accounting qualification studying requirements of the team.
Experience:
- Being able to foster a positive and enjoyable environment for learning, coaching and exam qualification will be a key requirement for the senior leadership qualities we are looking for in this role.
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
- FRS102 / IFRS
- Experience as a reviewer of accounting schedules and reconciliations
- Experience of process improvement
- Experience of leading training and developing people
- Knowledge of the Insurance industry would be ideal but not essential
