Our client, a leading south-west charitable organisation, is currently seeking a Finance Manager to join their dynamic finance team on a permanent, full-time basis.

As the Finance Manager, your pivotal role will involve ensuring the financial well-being of the organisation through effective management and oversee direct management of the small Finance team.

The responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance, manage year-end processes, and audits with Company Accountants.
• Manage financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems, including monthly accounts for Governance and Strategy Team and Board.
• Oversee cash flow forecast, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns accuracy.
• Collaborate with HR for compliant payroll data processing.
• Support Data Protection Officer for financial systems compliance.
• Report on business performance, including contract financials.
• Monitor finance team productivity and implement efficiency measures.
• Coordinate with Senior Management for carbon footprint management and cost control.
• Provide requested analyses and reports to Senior Management.
• Maintain accounting policies, assist with budgeting, and offer staff coaching.
• Support Business in spending monitoring and variance reporting.

The candidate:

• Minimum AAT or equivalent level qualification.
• Proven experience including budget management, preparing financial reports, proficiency in XERO financial management software, and leading a finance team.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data manipulation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, handle pressure, and make decisions regarding finance team management.
• Strong prioritisation skills, including effective time management and task prioritisation.
