As Finance Manager, working directly with the Managing Director and General Manager, you will manage the day-to-day finance operations of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finance function, including producing management accounts, analysing monthly / quarterly numbers, overseeing transactions / reconciliations, as well as processing payroll, VAT, HMRC and audit processes.
We are looking for our Finance Manager to work 18 hours per week over three days, however we can be flexible on this, and on the days worked . Once in agreement, we would like the same days to be worked each week.In time, we will consider some remote working.
Qualifications and Experience required:-
• ACA/ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified, or equivalent professional qualification
• Sound understanding and knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software including Sage and MS Office.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and time management skills
• Strong proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:-
• Management Accounting
• Liaising with HMRC and handling tax-related issues
• Completion of tax & VAT returns
• Prepare and analyse financial statements
• All day-to-day finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashflow forecasting and payroll
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting processes and cost reduction strategies
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
• FX management • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing requirements
• Provide financial analysis and support to management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes
Education:-
• A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:-
• Financial Accounting: 5 years (required)
• Management accounting: 3 years (preferred)
• Completion of tax & VAT returns: 3 years (preferred)
