Assistant Management Accountant

An established consultancy is looking for anAssistant Management Accountantto join their team. TheAssistant Management Accountant role involves supervising the Accounts Payable Clerk, carrying out monthly balance sheet reconciliation, reviewing and overseeing reports within the accounts payable and receivable departments alongside reviewing and monitoring supplier prepayments.

• Up to £34,000
• Full time office based - after probation 1 day WFH

Assistant Management Accountant responsibilities:

• Carrying out GSA Management Account reporting
• Dealing with prepayment releases
• Reporting on specific overhead costs and raising monthly recharges
• Monthly reconciliation of certain balance sheet accounts
• Analysis and posting of monthly receipts
• Posting of bonds and reviewing the monthly debtors report
• Effectively supervising the Accounts Payable Clerk, managing team meetings and quarterly check-ins
• Reviewing and overseeing maintenance of certain accounts payable reports
• Reviewing and monitoring supplier prepayments
• Budgeting and forecasting of specific overhead spend
• Reviewing weekly cashflow and daily bank movements for possible fraudulent transactions
• Preparing and posting of monthly cashbooks
• Setting up management reporting files at start of each financial year
• Supervising the Purchase Ledger Clerk during year-end, to ensure a smooth year-end close
• Re-evaluating of certain balance sheet accounts
• Grossing up of annual turnover

Assistant Management Accountant required skills/competencies:

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Previous experience within accounts payable and general ledger desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
