SalaryRadar Recruitment are working closely with the Head Office function of a multi-site manufacturing organisation supporting them in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant. Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Assistant Management Accountant will maintain the financial records of three group entities and assist in providing a complete, timely and accurate financial reporting function.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Finance Manager with the monthly management accounts, P&L analysis, budgets, forecasts and audits
- Liaise with sales to ensure monthly forecasts are updated and returned
- Maintaining accruals and prepayments
- Assist the Finance Manager in operating and improving internal controls within the finance function and ensure compliance with Internal Audit controls
- Support the Finance Manager with Year End audits, Tax packs and Head Office reporting
- Margin and efficiency analyses
- Oversee inventory counts and be responsible for tracking/valuing stock and related provisions
- Co-ordinate with the Accounts Assistants to maintain the ledger accounts
- Ensure compliance with Internal Audit controls and Company Policies
- VAT Returns
- Cashflow forecasting
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Ensure that documentation for all processes across the organisation is regularly reviewed and updated
Profile:
- Prior experience in a similar role (Assistant Management Accountant, Senior Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant)
- AAT Qualified, ACCA or CIMA Studier all to be considered
- Exposure to a product-based environment would be advantageous i.e. manufacturing, distribution, wholesale or retail
- Strong Excel knowledge (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulae)
- Exposure to ERP systems would be advantageous
