JOB PURPOSE
As Finance Manager, Reporting, you'll have responsibility for IFRS 16 Lease Accounting across Burberry and supporting the preparation of the Group's external reporting requirements. This role leads Burberry's reporting of leases under IFRS 16 assets and will contribute to wider Group financial reporting. This role will require a strong technical focus, and the ability to produce monthly reports accurately and on a timely basis.
This Finance Manager, Group Reporting role is offered on a full time, fixed term contract basis for 12 months. We work on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week in our Horseferry House, London office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage IFRS 16 Group Reporting
- Ownership of the end to end process for lease accounting in Burberry
- Working closely with Regional Finance, Legal and Property teams to review their assessments of leases
- Review of central accounting schedules for new leases
- Responsibility for monthly closing and reporting process
- Preparation and review of disclosure information for Interim and Year end external reporting
- User support for lease accounting software
- Act as global point of contact, on behalf of Group Finance, for accounting advice on IFRS 16
Group Financial Reporting
- Assist in planning, preparing and reviewing the half year and year-end Group financial statements
- Preparation of note disclosures for the Group financial statements
- Ownership of ESEF tagging
- Liaison with external auditors
- Lead and support on ad hoc Finance projects and wider Group Reporting requirements
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA or equivalent
- Previous experience with IFRS 16 Lease Accounting ideal, or financial reporting within a PLC/FTSE listed environment
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
- Strong technical accounting ability
- Ability to review and understand contracts
- Attention to detail
- Able to plan, organise and manage work effectively and take responsibility for output
- Adept at working with systems
