The Role
You will lead and manage the management accounting and financial accounting functions of the Peak District National Park Authority.
You’ll be a key member of our organisation, supporting the development and implementation of our medium-term financial plan and developing and implementing policies, guidance and processes that affect all financial activities and impact upon our operations and financial position.
You will ensure that sound financial information is readily available, and all financial systems operate effectively.
You will be the Chief Finance Officer (Section 151 Officer) for the Authority. In this role, you will ensure that the financial affairs of the Authority are properly administered and that financial regulations and instructions are observed and kept up to date. A full role description for the CFO duties is attached. The duty includes a special responsibility allowance which is included in the salary listed on this vacancy.
About You:
You will:
- Be a Qualified Accountant with current full professional membership of a CCAB accountancy body.
- Have experience of developing and implementing financial strategies and policies.
- Have experience of preparing end of year statutory accounts, and liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Have a proven track record of driving continuous improvement resulting in sustainable success.
