Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Record to Report (R2R) Finance team on a permanent basis. The role will be based at our Finance hub in Basingstoke, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.
Join us as a Finance Manager in our Record to Report team and lead a dynamic team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of financial activities while adhering to company policies and quality standards. Working seamlessly with all departments, providing invaluable support and coordination through insightful financial reporting and analysis. As an innovator at heart, you will drive best practices and process efficiencies using Visual Management methodology and tools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Being a stakeholder relationship expert, you will build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will also conduct regular reviews, including monthly service performance assessments, to capture metrics, feedback, and formulate robust action plans.
Being responsible for financial controls, you will cultivate a strong culture and ensure audit compliance. You identify and recommend potential operational efficiencies and improvements to enhance working practices and procedures. Serving as a people champion, you will provide guidance and support in prioritising workloads, while motivating and creating development opportunities for team members.

Qualifications & Experience:- Considerable experience of leading and developing a team with in a shared services role preferably within a similar operating model & size of organisation.
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with considerable PQE.
- Extensive experience of month-end close processes & streamlining to drive efficiencies and process improvements.
- Experience guiding teams / people through understanding of technical accounting frameworks and problem solving. Being to go to person to consult on matters of subject expertise.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of SSC & R2R processes.
- Experience with complex financial systems landscape and data structures.
- Experience & knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, six sigma etc with practical application within previous roles.
- Proactive individual with the ability to both operate strategically and tactically and able to effectively manage multiple challenges whilst maintaining high quality throughout.
- Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior business stakeholders.
- Experience of working in an SSC environment.
- Experience of multi country, multi region financial control.
- Acts as a key member of organisations leadership community, role models company behaviours and contributes to the achievement of the wider business strategy.
