Working as part of the Finance and Operations team the ideal candidate will provide efficient administrative support to the project delivery staff at the Centre for Sustainable Energy. The post-holder will work closely with staff across the organisation and will develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with colleagues.
Pay and conditions
- The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
- The salary for the role will be £25,953 - £28,520.
- You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Answer the phone and take accurate messages.
- Sort incoming and outgoing post.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of stationery, office equipment and refreshments.
- Oversee the IT and telecoms workstation set up for staff.
- Organise staff travel and events.
- Administer petty cash and banking as required.
- Assist with the recruitment process, liaising with candidates as necessary.
- Undertake other activities as required by the Director of Finance and Operations, the Chief Executive, and Senior Office and Recruitment Administrator.

All CSE staff receive training and are given study time to complete the NEA City & Guilds in Energy Awareness.
Essential attributes for this role include:
- Experience of working in, overseeing and organising a busy office environment.
- Front-of-house experience.
- Ability to maintain and organise effective electronic and manual filing systems.
- The ability to develop fruitful relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft software and packages including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and the Microsoft Office suite.
- IT know-how for basic workstation and telecoms set up and simple problem solving,
A standard DBS check may be required for this role.
