Finance Officer
£34k - £38k (Dependant on experience)
Location - EC4M (Hybrid)
My Client, a regulator for Optical Professions based within London, are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to manage their purchase ledger and payment functions. You will be required to handle three payrolls and related statutory work, perform contract review analysis, reporting and administrative tasks.
This role will require you to foster a collaborative approach to work as you will be working alongside a Finance Administrator to ensure seamless operation within the Finance Department.
Your key responsibilities :
- Maintaining and accurate and up-to-date purchase ledger, inputting invoices and expense claims with the correct approval and supporting documents.
- Working within designated timelines to make accurate payments to supplier, adhering to supplier terms.
- Retaining purchase ledger documents, ensuring that data is stored clearly and correctly.
- Reviewing supplier audit logs routinely to ensure that detail changes are made accurately.
- Training staff on purchase order processing and maintain a schedule for direct debit invoices.
- Providing support for month-end and year-end work, including managing three payrolls, ensuring statutory payments and submissions are timely and accurate.
- Ensuring annual HMRC employment tax and benefits calculations and submissions are completed.
- Liaising with the management accountant to ensure accurate transfer of payroll journals to the general ledger.
- Analyze payroll data against budget/forecasts as part of the month-end process.
- Administer contracts, ensuring completeness and accuracy in storage and records.
The successful candidate will have :
- Purchase Ledger working knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong customer service ethos and effective communication skills.
- AAT or an accounting part qualification would be desirable.
- Experience in payroll would be desirable.
