We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Finance Officer in the UCL Division of Medicine.
The UCL Division of Medicine within the Faculty of Medical Sciences forms one of the largest concentrations of biomedical scientists in Europe. We bring together clinicians and scientists undertaking world-leading research, teaching, and patient care.
The Division of Medicine has approximately 400 staff with 130 independent investigators and is one of the largest departments in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. It is a dynamic division, spread across two campuses, i.e. the Bloomsbury Campus and the Royal Free Campus (based on the site of the Royal Free Hospital).
About the role
The purpose of this role will be to work alongside the divisional management accountant and research finance team. It will involve a wide range of financial activities including, placing orders for research staff, processing invoices and purchase orders, assisting admin staff with expense claim queries, investigating discrepancies, responding to purchasing queries and a variety of financial processes. There will be time to learn about UCL finance systems and to gain new skills.
You will work in a small, friendly, and collaborative team who are committed to excellence in customer service.
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site. As this a part-time role, hours can be tailored, so feel free to discuss your ideal hours during the interview.
Please note that this role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

About you
You have a GCSE Maths or equivalent, grade C or higher, are familiar with computer finance systems and are proficient with Excel.
You also are able to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and commitment and have excellent communication and organisation skills.
If you have knowledge of UCL financial Information Systems (iProcurement, iExpenses, Grants Administration and General Ledger) and have previous experience of working in the Higher Education sector including working with academics and students, then we definitely want to hear from you!
