Department Profile:
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.


Team Profile:
The Glasgow Finance department comprises approximately 300 staff, in a variety of functions such as: Legal Entity Control, Tax, Regulatory Reporting, Liquidity Reporting, Risk and Assurance, Data Control & Governance, Compensation Control and Project teams. All of whom commonly work with colleagues and counterparts across numerous regions and support our global businesses.

What we’re looking for:

Analyst/Associate

  • Strong communication skills; clear, concise, and appropriate method of delivery
  • Effective problem-solving skills demonstrating initiative and creativity
  • Accountability for individual tasks and actions
  • Ability to escalate appropriately
  • Shows initiative and contributes to the work of others while fulfilling own responsibilities
  • Critical thinking skills, demonstrating analysis and a balanced perspective
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
  • Risk awareness, e.g. uses discretion in dealing with sensitive or confidential information
  • Builds effective relationships within the group
  • Accountancy or other Business degree preferred

Directors (Additional to the above)

  • Adaptability: in order to manage their and their team’s workload efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment and to flex communication style as needed
  • Enhanced communication abilities: in order to articulate complexities in an effective manner, encourage open discussion and provide effective people management
