The successful applicant will lead a complex, time critical project, assessing and mapping current banking processes, developing future processes, and providing options and recommendations. Key to the project s success will be to ensure there is a smooth transition that ensures minimal impact on HMRC customers.
Experience in project management, delivering end to end complex deliveries to challenging timescales and within scope and cost is essential.
Person specification
The successful applicant will:
- Lead and manage a dispersed project team made up of business and project professionals.
- Build close working relationships with Government Banking Services around the requirements, contracts, industry change and day to day banking.
- Establish links, gaining trust and manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and partners and ensure all are kept fully updated.
- Deal with multiple IT changes by establishing a relationship with IT suppliers to ensure all IT deliveries including security and data aspects are tested and approved before delivery.
- Ensure awareness of other change that may impact the project or may be impacted by the project.
- Look to improve payments processing and bring long term benefits, reducing costs and risk for future bank changes.
- Be responsible for any aspects of the HMRC end to end change, including costs, managing Risks and Dependencies whilst providing a high level of assurance to the Project Board.
Essential Criteria:
- Association of Project Managers (MAPM) accredited.
- Knowledge and experience of HMRC finance and payments processes.
- Evidence of successfully delivering complex change for a large public sector organisation.
