Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire our specialist client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be based 5 days a week in the office, with occasional travel to other sites required.
This job would suit a newly qualified chartered accountant ACA OR ACCA who is looking for their 1st or 2nd role out of practice, in a role with access all areas of finance, you could be involved in commercial finance, acquisitions, and financial reporting.

The successful individual will have experience in Statutory Accounts and Audit, with previous experience of working in a team environment and providing training/assistance to other team members. This person will report to the Group Financial Accountant and will have regular contact with the Directors, other Head Office Departments and Operational Team, so the ability to build relationships with all levels of personnel is important. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, is important as you will be providing reports and KPI's to directors on a regular basis. Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills are essential for this role.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in financial modelling and monthly Bank Reporting.
- Assist in financial planning (Budgets and Forecasts).
- Assist with Year End statutory accounting, audit process and tax analysis.
- Support the Group Financial Accountant and Assistant Financial Accountant to develop the finance function to the next level.
- Business Partnering with internal and external stakeholders - working closely with Directors, Regional Directors, Branch Managers and Branch Staff.
- Understand and partake in the month end process and production of management reporting packs along with a succinct commentary.
- Train branch staff in procedures, excel and other systems or how to use reports.
- Develop controls and procedure to ensure that all key issues are identified, communicated and captured in all the appropriate systems. Work closely with the Internal audit function.
- Improvements to our stocktaking procedures, and reporting.
- Ad hoc commercial projects, assist with acquisition due diligence and integration.
- Utilities usage reporting.
- Cover for Absence / Holidays on the Bank Reconciliation.
- Month/Quarter end Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist with implementation of new reporting systems.
- Be able to assist with rebate reporting/analysis within the Management Accounts.
