Situation
Ford & Stanley Recruitment are partnered with an Award-Winning Train Manufacturer on their search for a capable Financial Accountant.
Mentored by the Head of Finance, this is an opportunity for an ambitious individual to advance in their career, in an ever-growing, multi-national company.
Responsible for the month-end process, you will be crucial in ensuring accurate and timely financial data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and input the month-end journals (i.e Fixed Assets, prepayments etc)
- Check and finalise IFRS16 & IFRS15 accounting related journals.
- Check financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain and check all financial reports and dashboards using SAP BPC reporting.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports as requested by management, stakeholders, or regulatory authorities.
- Support and maintain SAP reports, queries, and data extracts to support financial analysis and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls in all financial reporting activities.
- Assist with external audits and internal reviews by providing documentation, explanations, and support.
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns in accordance with UK tax regulations and deadlines.
Location: Stockport (Central Stores) and City Centre Office / Hybrid
Agreed Criteria for candidates to secure interview:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS), to complete month end reporting.
- Experienced with SAP reporting (or BAAN, GMAO or similar ERPs), and excel.
- International business experience is desirable but not essential.
