Financial Accountant – Sjs/12539

This privately owned manufacturing and distribution business boasts phenomenal year on year growth and has expanded through acquisition, investment in efficient production facilities and a reputation for delivering excellent customer service. With turnover now exceeding £100m exciting times lie ahead as they continue to grow and integrate new divisions of the business in a centralised finance department. They have identified a vacancy for a Financial Accountant to play a key part in the new structure, working closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure all financial reporting and compliance is in order and provide meaningful interpretation of the numbers to non-finance staff. Key duties will include:

Preparation of statutory accounts to correct accounting standards

• Preparation of consolidated accounts including (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow)
• Covenant calculations, monthly bank reporting and liaison
• Preparation of reports for R&D tax claims
• Reviewing management accounts for retail sites
• Reporting on performance, variances, overheads etc.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow preparation
• Responsible for annual audit preparation and liaison
• Ad hoc due diligence and internal audit projects

The ideal candidate for this Financial Accountant role will likely be an ACA / ACCA qualified accountant either looking to move out of practice or a Financial Accountant seeking a more challenging role in a substantial and growing business. Experience of financial accounting and reporting is essential for this role as you will be the go to person for technical accounting matters within the team. A willingness to get involved in different aspects of the finance function is also essential as you will be expected to review and comment on manufacturing and retail activities, investigating issues and problems in a support role to a busy Group Financial Controller.
