Financial Accountant

As a Financial Accountant at Rovco & Vaarst, you will join a growing finance team of 5 and will play a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations, offering support to the Financial Controller. You will also work on projects such as developing new processes and procedures to ensure good controls are maintained as the business grows.
To be successful you'll need to be fully qualified or at the final stage of exams with a recognised accounting body. You will need to be highly organised, motivated and able to deal with the fast pace of a growing, changing business and multiple deadlines.

Objectives & Responsibilities
Vaarst is an exciting and dynamic environment meaning these are likely to change as we grow, upon joining your objectives and responsibilities will include:
- Oversee transactional processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll functions and supporting the finance assistants
- Lead the month end process including prepayments, accruals and balance sheet controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information, implement change and resolve issues
- Partner with FP&A and project accounting teams to ensure they have the data needed and assist with insights into monhtly results
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency
You should apply if you have

- ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW / ICAS or equivalent finalist or fully qualified
- Proven experience in accounting or finance, with good knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficient in using accounting software (we use Xero) and MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to take ownership and see a task through to completion
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
