My client is looking for a Financial Controller on an interim 3-6 months fixed term contract.
As the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information within our organization. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities, while providing strategic guidance to the executive team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership abilities to drive financial performance and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to management and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting processes and controls to safeguard company assets.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop budget plans and financial projections.
- Monitor budget variances and provide insights to support decision-making.
Financial Analysis
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Evaluate financial performance against key metrics and benchmarks.
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports to support strategic initiatives.
Cash Flow Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
- Monitor cash balances and optimize cash utilization to meet operational needs.
- Implement strategies to maximize cash flow efficiency and minimize risk.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Oversee the preparation of tax filings and coordination with external auditors.
- Assess financial risks and implement controls to mitigate exposure.
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CIMA, ACA, ACCA
- Proven experience in a financial management role, with a track record of success in financial reporting, analysis, and control.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
