Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervise and manage the financial team, providing leadership and training to ensure they excel in their roles and develop as individuals.
- Oversee creation of monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies, but ensure value is added through proactive recommendations which drive performance.
- Play an active role improving systems, processes, and controls.
- Work closely with team leaders within AP & AR to ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Assist the FD in preparing reports for Senior Managers and board members.
- Assist the FD in numerous, ad-hoc, projects which could include treasury management, tax planning, acquisitions, capex, and ROI appraisal.
- Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
- Support the Company and our customers that you have contact with by ensuring that you understand our products and services and participate in team and business development activities where appropriate.
- Whether you are providing a customer service or questioning how you or your team operates, identify and suggest ways we could do things differently. Make improvements whilst demonstrating a willingness to embrace and adapt to change.
- Maintain your personal technical, professional and company system skills to a consistently high standard; be self-motivated to increase your exposure and experience within your role.
People Management
- Manage people effectively by showing integrity and professionalism; actively listen to and be willing to hear what people say, help to prioritise workloads; keep your team informed of changes by delivering information in a simple, accurate and appropriate manner; explain decisions taken by you and the Company and encourage their involvement.
- Be honest, consistent, and fair in giving and receiving feedback and contributing towards appraisals and performance reviews. Take part in future surveys and embrace opportunities for giving and asking for feedback.
- Establish coaching and mentoring systems where appropriate and identify any training needs and ensure they are met to include actively supporting and promoting development opportunities and internal training. Consider career progression for existing people and future succession planning.
- Support the recruitment of new talent into the company.
