Talentedge are working with an extremely exciting Tech Start Up based in Cambridge who after a period of sustained growth are looking to bring in an accomplished Start UpFinancial Controller into the business.

Role

As the Financial Controller, you’ll have full oversight of the accounting function, consolidating all entities reporting into an amazing finance leader. You’ll be integral to building a robust controls environment, ensuring best-practice financial operations. In a fast-growth environment, the business needs evolve fast, so you’ll be proactively driving change & improvements as we scale.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounting with the assistance of an impressive internal team.
• Run Group consolidated reporting
• Oversee financial reporting, including monthly management accounts and statutory reporting in each jurisdiction.
• Build robust financial controls & ensure strong financial governance.
• Support other internal functions) with reporting & financial analysis & procedures.
• Oversee tax management (VAT, tax credits) & tax planning, liaising with tax advisors
• Improve and upgrade financial systems as required
• Implement improvements to financial processes across the business (including payables, reporting, cash forecasting)
• Work with tech team on continuous improvement of reporting & dashboards.

It’s important that you meet the following requirements:

• Qualified Accountant with 2-3 years PQE and first-time passes
• Strong technical knowledge, especially regarding consolidation & international accounting
• Good knowledge of UK / International GAAP / IFRS and accounting best practice
• Experience of both large-company best-practice and start-up dynamism
• Proactive; bringing rigour and discipline; a problem-solver
