Our household name client have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join the team working at their Glasgow Head Office. You will play a vital role in our busy Finance department which supports all divisions of the company providing them with management accounts, payroll, accounts payable & receivable, cash flow, cash flow management and tax compliance services.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Producing Management Accounts with a high level of accuracy for multiple sites
- Full balance sheet reconciliations, particularly around inventory, labour costing and work-in-progress
- Analysing the month - end financial position and making appropriate adjustments if necessary in line with internal procedures
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels within the group
- Supporting the preparation of regular and ad hoc financial data and variance analysis on a monthly basis
- Deep dive into financial data and become a subject matter expert, providing additional insights
- Helping to provide support and training within the finance team
- Identify and understand business challenges and create solutions
- Full month end and year end closures
- Quarterly VAT Returns
- Payroll sign off
- Ensuring monthly and annual HMRC submissions including RTI/P60/P11d/P45 are filed within the deadlines
The ideal candidate will have:
- Accounting Qualification or QBE with at least three years working experience in a similar role
- Competent in producing and analysing management accounts
- Ability to implement, manage change and achieve results
- Experience in machine, vehicle sales and/or aftersales is advantageous
- Strong cross-functional working skills
- Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong problem solving and organisation skills
- Ability to engage with and motivate a team
- Driven and motivated mindset
- Ability to work well on their own and as part of a team
- A positive, can-do attitude and be an out of the box thinker
