Financial Controller

This is the opportunity to join a highly-successful accountancy firm within their internal finance function. The firm have enjoyed strong growth in recent years and are keen to onboard a member to their internal finance team and offer support to the Finance Director ensuring financial controls and management systems are operating as effectively as possible.

Your new role

The key duties of this role will include:

• Manage accounting records including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger
• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements in line with reporting deadlines
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Analyse financial data and monitor expenditure
• Evaluate and manage risk
• Ensure compliance with regulations
• Look to continually drive efficiencies and improvements in reporting procedures, accuracy and controls
• Cashflow / bank management
• Ensuring that debt is managed
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Oversight of the audit process and work closely with the finance director managing external stakeholder relationships
• Additional controller duties as necessary

What you'll need to succeed:

• You will hold a professional qualification such as ICAS, ACCA or CIMA
• Be comfortable working in a busy office environment either within practice or in industry
• Have exceptional IT skills being proficient using spreadsheets
• Boast a strong working knowledge of management accounting and have strong project management skills
• Be comfortable communicating with various departments and internal stakeholders within the firm and deliver quality work in a timely and efficient manager to meet strict deadlines.
