Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has arisen to temporarily join my client as a Financial Controller.
My client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments, and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.
Role Objective: The Legal Entity Controller (LEC) team has responsibility for the financial management of the Firms legal entities and the Glasgow LEC team is an integral part of the Global LEC organisation. Part of the Glasgow LEC team focuses on supervisory support and change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detailed monthly compensation and benefits expense reporting and supporting data analytics for presentation to senior management
- Compensation related statutory account disclosures such as Staff Costs, Employment Compensation, Post-Employment Benefits and Key Management Personnel disclosures
- Quarterly EBA (Fin Rep) and Federal Reserve regulatory reporting which requires a detailed analysis of compensation and benefit expense under both IFRS and US GAAP
- Responses to internal and external audit inquiries
- Pension accounting bookings and reporting
- Production of other ad-hoc internal and external compensation related reporting
- Drive both continuous enhancement of reporting outputs and process efficiency, including the use of digital tools
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Professional Accountancy Qualification (Full or Part Qualified), or equivalent specialization in Finance
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and/or reporting
- Flexibility to change priorities as new situations present themselves
- Strong communication skills; clear, concise, and appropriate method of delivery
- Experience with establishing and meeting critical deadlines, as well as tracking and driving execution
- Risk awareness and good guardianship skills
- Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
