Join the Close Brothers Financial Crime Team where you will focus on providing Financial Crime compliance advice to Treasury & Savings stakeholders and to provide support to help the business embed systems and controls to prevent Financial Crime.
The role holder will be responsible for supporting onboarding and in-life customer due diligence checks in accordance with our AML and CDD procedures, will assist in the oversight and maintenance of first line AML and sanctions systems and controls.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act and Joint Money Laundering Steering Group guidance, particularly around customer due diligence, and will be a strong communicator and confident decision-maker, adept at identifying and managing Financial Crime risks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete customer due diligence on prospective clients and conduct periodic customer due diligence reviews on existing clients.
- Expert knowledge providing risk-based advice to Treasury & Savings stakeholders on key areas of anti-money laundering including customer due diligence and beneficial ownership.
- Complete, support and guide on Savings Retail and Corporate due diligence, becoming an SME and key point of contact for queries and challenges.
- Complete and maintain Treasury counterparty due diligence and Wolfsberg Questionnaires at the onboarding stage and annual reviews.
- Support annual reviews of contractual agreements with key 3rd parties such as Brokers, Deposit Aggregators and SIPP providers.
- Perform quality assurance activity on CDD and screening, collate, analyse and report results.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:
- Have experience of working in a Financial Crime compliance-related role at a regulated institution.
- Are up-to-date on UK Financial Crime related laws and regulations, in particular Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act, and the application of the Regulations and associated guidance in practice in different business settings.
- Are able to plan and organise workload, manage own time effectively to meet tight deadlines. Be proactive / operate on own initiative when required.
- Have strong written & verbal communication skills and confidence engaging at all levels.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
- Have experience in a Savings and/or Retail Bank or Building Society
- Obtain a certificate or diploma in anti-money laundering from the International Compliance Association, ACAMS or equivalent.
