About Us:

Deliver outstanding welfare support to protect residents across our borough.

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we are focused on putting our residents and local businesses at the heart of every decision. From the policy decisions that we're making through to the services that we’re delivering, it’s vital that we put the needs of our community first. We want to give everyone a great quality of life, with access to a comfortable home, sustainable and desirable employment options, and the chance to live and work in a healthy and safe environment. And our Income & Financial Inclusion service plays a vital part in achieving these goals.

The Role:

Joining our collaborative team, you’ll support residents who are going to be affected by changes to their welfare benefits. The role is all about helping them understand exactly how they’re going to be affected then working with our external partners to minimise the impact.

Taking a proactive approach, you’ll identify, contact and advise residents across the borough. You’ll create personalised options and budget plans for the residents in your caseload, along with resources that detail benefit changes, external services and re-housing options. Keeping up to date with changes in legislation is also an important part of your work, as is delivering money management training to staff and residents alike.

There’s a real sense of variety in the role as you’ll build relationships and collaborate with an extensive range of external agencies and partners.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’ll already have experience in a social housing environment and in helping customers with rent arrears. You’ll be able to confidently build relationships, create detailed plans and use software to manage a caseload.

Strong communication skills and a good knowledge of relevant legislation and welfare benefits are essential. Just as much, we’re looking for warm, personable individuals with good judgement who can work with all kinds of people.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to extend or close this vacancy early without warning subject to the volume of suitable applicants.
