About the Team:
This is an exciting and busy time to be joining Lambeth Council Facilities Management.as we improve our ways of working to enable us to continue being ambitious for Lambeth. The FM Safety Officer is responsible for Support the Safety Manager in preparing H&S and risk reports to Cabinet and Executive Management Board.
The Safety Officer role is required to support the Safety Manager of any contractual issues with the Hard & Soft FM contractors relating to health and safety. The postholder will support the Safety Manager in their “intelligent client” duties in all matters related to health and safety.

Lambeth Facilities Management team focuses on the delivery of all Hard and Soft FM services operating within the Councils Corporate buildings, Schools, NHS PCT, Day Centres etc. and we undertake Assurance Audits to leased/commercial and school buildings to ensure Health and Safety and adherence to building statutory compliance requirements.
In addition, Lambeth Facilities Management often deals with large and small project works which includes refurbishment, moves, decanting, asset life cycle management etc.
About the Role:
As the FM Safety Officer, you will be responsible for updating policy advice and guidance relating to the improvement of the working environment and the promotion of health and safety. The post holder will be monitoring our buildings and spaces for new and emerging hazards, you will develop comprehensive, proactive and structured strategy and activity responses to deal with these, working closely with our contractors and stakeholders to achieve positive improvements to creating safe and comfortable working environment, promoting health and safety.
This includes support and guidance to the safety representatives' structure and governance as well as the delivery of building compliance and safety projects and campaigns on specific health and safety issues.
