Food Technology Teacher

Hays has been approached by a High School in the Wigan area who are looking to secure a Food Technology Teacher to start immediately, this role will initially run until Easter but has the potential to run until summer. This is a school that strives to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. They strive to deliver a first-class education based on high quality teaching, support and experience outside the classroom. The school is now looking for an individual who can come in and hit the ground running, and promote the values and aims of the school.
Your new role
To be successful, you will be a Food specialist and have experience delivering practical cooking lessons. This role will start immediately and will involve taking on full class responsibilities, so this will include full planning and delivering of lessons as well as marking work and assessing pupil progress. You will need to work closely with the Design and Technology department in order to deliver the curriculum in a fun and engaging way across KS3 and KS4. This would be a great role for an NQT/ECT who is looking to develop their teaching skills within the specialist subject. You should be able to support and motivate your pupils and commit yourself fully to the role.
What you\'ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, hold qualified teacher status (QTS) gained in the UK. You should be enthusiastic, approachable and be able to hit the ground running. This could be a perfect role for an NQT/ECT that is looking to gain some experience working within a high school environment.
