Job Details:
This Forest School Leader role is full-time and permanent, starting as soon as possible. We require a passionate and energetic Forest School Leader who will innovate and raise standards as well as attainment. A good sense of humour and the ability to relate and effectively communicate with young people are essential.
Role Description:
As a Forest School Leader, you will play a pivotal role in creating an enriching outdoor learning experience for our children. You will be responsible for planning and leading Forest School sessions, incorporating nature-based activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Your role will involve creating a safe and inspiring outdoor environment, managing risk effectively, and ensuring that each child has meaningful learning experiences in nature.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver engaging Forest School sessions that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Foster a love for nature and the outdoors among children through hands-on experiences, exploration, and discovery.
* Create a safe and inclusive outdoor learning environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines and risk assessment protocols.
* Collaborate with the nursery team to integrate Forest School activities into the overall curriculum and learning objectives.
* Build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and partnership working.
* Continuously assess and evaluate the impact of Forest School sessions on children's learning and development, making adjustments as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to Forest School activities, including observations and progress reports.
Requirements:
* Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
* Previous experience working in a Forest School or outdoor education setting.
* Strong knowledge of child development theories and the EYFS framework.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* A passion for nature-based learning and outdoor exploration.
* First aid qualification (desirable).
